This home at 513 Center Street was to be destroyed if no one spoke up for it. Rodney Mohr and his wife decided to try to move it and restore it.
Center Street is the Ashland are of many wonderful old homes.
Center Street is slowly becoming a showcase of Ashland architectural history. Saving the old homes for the furture generations has become a labor of love for the Center Street residents.
Asbestos was removed from pipe in the home, and the mantels were taken off.
All plumbing and wiring was disconnected and the chimney was removed and the house was then taken off the basement.
Plantings around the house had to be dug up and the ground leveled for the moving truck.
It will be a slow prcession down Center Street.
Trees were removed. There were 3 large ones that were scheduled to be removed in the next few years. These will be replaced by the Mohr family. Stakes are inplace on the new lot
