Bow Beginnings


The exact thickness and curve of a bow are vital in producing a superior bow.

while darker hair is used on student bows.

experiment with frogs


Rodney tried an experiment with the material corian to create frogs.

The material is more stable than ivory, tortiseshell and ebony.
Those expand and contract with humidity changes.
However, synthetics lack grain structure and therefore strength.
There were mixed market reports, some thought the corian was wonderful,
some thought it was too experimental.

Restoration


Too prevent further wear and damage to the frog on this fine Lupot violin bow,
the original has been replaced with an exact replica.
The original frog can now be preserved for years to come.
